Overview

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Manager will apply leadership and innovation as the life force that sustains and enhances our programs. This position will make a difference by ensuring that the delivery of client services for assigned program(s) meet or exceed client needs, funder and regulatory requirements, and annual outcome targets across programs in their portfolio.

STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION

Exempt. This position is open to applicants of all genders.

Location

Kamloops and Kelowna, British Columbia

SHIFT HOURS

- Full Time (40 Hours a week)

- Rotations: Monday- Friday (Hours to be determined)

Reporting and working relationships

- Reports to the Regional Director or their designate

- Participates as a member of the Connective Support Society senior management team

- Participates and contributes to special projects, working groups, or committees internally and externally as requested or assigned

Key accountabilities

- Works in collaboration with the Director in representing the organization as a key leader in the community, advocating for Connective service users and services

- Maintains relationships with funders, government organizations, media, and other key IAPs in relation to designated programs

- Demonstrates a commitment to cultural awareness and safety, ensuring culturally appropriate service delivery with a focus on Indigenous communities connected to designated programs

- Ensures designated programs meet organizational standards, contractual obligations, policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and relevant accreditation standards

- Develops annual outcome measurement plans (identifies goals, measurements and outcomes) and ensures safety and quality of service delivery

- Provides direct reports to partners and funders as required, including reporting for services, critical incidents, service level reporting, and other contract requirements

- Assesses and resolves operational issues and policies, including labor relations escalated from Managers with potential grievances

- Contributes to regional strategic and operational plans as a member of the senior leadership team

- Contributes to organization-wide initiatives and ensures program teams are updated on initiatives and communications

- Monitors program and service trends (incidents, utilization, financial activity) to identify and implement opportunities for continuous quality improvement

- Supports implementation of new programs for assigned area in consultation with the Regional Director

- Works with the Finance team to plan and review monthly financials, contribute to the annual budget, and make program decisions within the approved budget

- Represents the needs of Connective clients in community committees, working groups, and other organizations to improve service delivery

- Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, professional development, and performance management for employees and teams

- Assumes program and client services accountabilities as assigned by the Regional Director in their absence, including backfilling for Program Managers as required

- Role-models professional workplace conduct and fosters a positive work environment

- Provides timely communication to the Regional Director and/or Executive Team regarding exposure to risk in program and services operations

Working conditions

- Adhere to Connective policies and procedures

- Travel within region to support service delivery and program sites within portfolio

- Be available to work flexible hours as needed, including some evenings/weekends as determined by regional office/program needs

Experience and skills

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. The ideal candidate has:

- A bachelor's degree in criminology, social sciences, social work, or related fields and professional experience in corrections, community living, shelter or residential programming

- Seven years of related experience working with vulnerable populations with complex mental health and/or substance use issues in the social services sector including Community Living, Mental Health & Addictions, and Criminal Justice System

- Three to five years of professional management experience leading small to medium-sized teams

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

- Experience with financial/human resources management, unions, and non-profit management

- Ability to motivate and organize a staff team

- Growth-oriented and adept at change management within a responsive environment

- Administrative experience and strong administrative skills

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, conflict management and resolution strategies, and a positive work approach

Preference for candidates with knowledge of non-profit work environments, especially in Housing, the Criminal Justice Services, Health Services and Community Living Services and experience in working with diverse population groups.

Requirements

- Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check

- Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced Security Clearance

- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements

- Current Emergency First Aid Certificate

- Valid class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract

- Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport clients

Compensation

The salary range for this exempt position will be $82,000- $102,485

Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
