Current Opportunity: EAP Counsellor (Mandarin Speaking)

Location: Canada

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid or remote depending on your proximity to our Toronto office.

Salary: 62,000 CAD per year plus competitive benefits offering

Language: Clinical counselling experience in English and Mandarin

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate, skilled EAP Clinical Counsellors to provide high‑quality support to clients across Canada. This is a fully remote, full‑time position (40 hours per week) with primarily daytime shifts and one weekend evening shift included. The role offers a salary of 60,000 for daytime schedules, along with competitive benefits.

What We’re Looking For:

- Master’s degree in mental health (social work, counselling, psychology, or related field).

- Licensure is not required; we actively support your journey to obtaining it through clinical supervision and dedicated allowances.

- Fluent Mandarin and English.

- Minimum of 2 years of direct client contact providing counselling or mental health services.

- Experience with clinical assessment tools and short‑term counselling modalities such as Solution‑Focused Therapy, CBT, Mindfulness, Integrative, or Systemic counselling.

- Training in crisis intervention and supporting high‑risk clients is a plus.

- Ability to work with clients experiencing substance abuse, crisis situations, mental health symptoms, or relationship/family challenges.

What You’ll Do:

As a Clinical Counsellor, you will connect with clients via phone, video, chat, and email, creating a safe and supportive space where they feel heard and understood. Responsibilities:

- Provide single‑session telephonic and video counselling, in‑the‑moment support, and crisis management.

- Conduct thorough assessments to determine suitability for short‑term counselling.

- Manage high‑risk situations, collaborating with clients and referring appropriately.

- Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.

- Develop clear and concise treatment plans and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of care and excellence.

- Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
