As an RN/LPN Clinical Educator, you will play a vital leadership role in promoting nursing best practices, supporting clinical staff, and enhancing the overall quality of care. You’ll serve as a key resource and mentor, helping to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence of nursing and care teams, while ensuring education programs align with corporate goals and provincial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the expert on nursing education and best practices.

Provide clinical support, mentorship, and guidance to Wellness Managers, Team Leads, and front-line staff.

Maintain visibility in care areas and model exemplary clinical practice.

Participate in direct and indirect resident care for educational purposes.

Liaise with Alberta Health Services (AHS) clinical specialists and physicians as needed.

Promote evidence-based practice and adherence to professional standards.

Analyze data and provide organizational updates on key indicators (e.g., falls, wounds, medication errors).

Recommend care models to enhance quality and resident outcomes.

Conduct clinical education audits and support accreditation readiness.

Lead the creation and implementation of annual education plans and goals.

Design and deliver continuing education and orientation programs.

Collaborate with HR, leadership, and the Clinical Quality Team to deliver competency-based training.

Organize internal and external in-service training opportunities.

Support education for residents and families as needed.

Support recruitment and retention through mentorship, satisfaction, and team-building efforts.

Participate in policy development and communicate clinical changes across teams.

Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment for staff at all levels.

Operate within an approved budget and contribute to the overall success of care initiatives.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Current RN or LPN licensure in Alberta

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an educator role, including curriculum development

Clinical experience in geriatrics; certification in geriatrics is an asset

Familiarity with Clinical Quality Standards, Accreditation, and regulatory updates

Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in professional skill development

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email

Strong leadership and teaching abilities

Skilled in interpreting data and implementing clinical best practices

Project management and organizational skills

Creative, flexible, and critical thinker

Clear communicator with the ability to set expectations and support learners

Patient, enthusiastic, and dependable

Practical nursing background with strong theoretical understanding

Other Bona-Fide Occupational Requirements

- A current and clear Criminal Records Check is required

- Must possess valid driver’s license

- Must own and properly register and insure own vehicle
