Essential Responsibilities

- Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports.

- Support Foreperson in planning work to meet contractual milestones.

- Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew.

- Operate equipment on work sites as needed.

- Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly.

- Participate in a shared rotation of on‑call emergencies.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement and a clear 3‑year driver abstract.

- Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance, road construction, bridges or related field is required.

- Snow plow experience is preferred.

- Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications.

- Professional written and verbal communication skills.

- Computer skills are an asset.

- Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol and audiogram testing.

Work Conditions

- This is a local position (No camp).

- Will be required to work shifts, on‑call, and nights as necessary.

- Benefits provided by CLAC.

- Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions.

Rates & Premiums

- Base hourly rate of $33.75/hr.

- Eligibility to receive premiums starting at $8/hour when performing winter maintenance operations.

- Operators eligible for a premium starting at $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit.
