Senior QA Engineer
We’re scaling our Product & Engineering organisation and expanding our Sydney hub, and we’re looking for our next Senior QA Engineer who wants to define and champion quality across a platform used by leading law firms around the world.
If you love understanding how systems behave, spotting issues early, and embedding quality into every stage of the development cycle, you’ll thrive here. You’ll work across manual and automated testing, test features spanning React/TypeScript and Ruby on Rails services, and play a key role in ensuring we ship reliable, high‑quality software at speed.
You’ll be embedded in a cross‑functional squad, collaborating closely with Engineers, Product, and Design to shape how features are scoped, tested, and delivered. This isn’t a “final checkpoint” QA role, it’s a quality‑at‑the‑source role with real influence.
We’re looking for someone with strong technical awareness, deep curiosity, and a high level of ownership — someone who raises the bar, communicates clearly, and uses AI to accelerate test design, automation, and analysis.
Job requirements
Must haves:
- Strong QA experience in SaaS or modern tech environments
- Experience with automated testing tools (Cypress/Playwright)
- Experience testing Rails‑based APIs
- Ability to debug issues across the frontend/backend boundary
- Experience designing and running test plans for complex features
- Strong communication and collaboration
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows
- Growth mindset + ease using AI tools
Nice to haves:
- Experience with observability tools
- Exposure to DevOps practices
- Experience mentoring engineers or influencing engineering culture
- Experience in early‑stage or scale‑up environments
Job responsibilities
- Lead QA strategy and execution within your squad
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
- Test backend APIs (Rails/Python) and frontend components (React/TypeScript)
- Drive regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing
- Identify quality gaps early and influence engineering decisions
- Improve bug reporting, triage, and root‑cause processes
- Contribute to broader QA guidelines and standards
- Use AI tools to accelerate test creation and analysis
- Advocate for quality throughout the product lifecycle

- Purposeful connection. Team offsites and meet‑ups.
- Values‑led culture. Guided by The Nexler Way, our values and operating principles that define who we are, how we work, and how we win together.

- Committed to Care – We genuinely care about the work we do and the industry we do it for
- Human at the Core – Relationships and empathy guide everything we do
