All Position Welder

Hourly rate: $36.67 – Fully Qualified (starts at Learner 1: $31.16/hr; Learner 2: $33.00/hr; Learner 3: $34.83 - Progression based on merit not hours)

We have an opportunity for you to join our production team as a AP Welder at our Cambridge, Ontario facility.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

To perform all types of manual welding in all positions on company products to quality standards and perform fitting operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform all position welding on company products to quality standards. Such welds are not subject to RT and UT inspection.
- Read and interpret Production Orders, Drawings, Shop Instruction Sheet (SIS), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Set up jigs and holding devices as required, positions as required.
- Identify and verify workpiece material.
- Utilize all types of semi-automatic gas and electric welding power sources for manual welding, arc air, cleaning tools, shields, safety equipment, and welding fixtures.
- Perform overhead crane lifts to maintain their own production requirements, marking equipment.
- Communicate openly with the team members and shop management.
- Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.
- Successful completion of an intermediate welding program.
- Must be able to pass the following pre-hire weld tests:

- 3G Vertical 3/8" plate test. Process is Manual GTAW. Bend test examination.
- 2G Horizontal 3/8" plate test. Process is GMAW. Bend test examination.
- 3G Vertical 3/8" plate test. Process is Manual SMAW. Bend test examination.

- For pre-hire weld test: Must bring own CSA-approved safety boots, helmet, gloves, and safety glasses.
- Ability to read and understand/interpret drawings, specifications, operating procedures, work orders, etc.
- Basic level blueprint reading skills.
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in awkward positions.
- Ability to pass fit-testing for the wearing of a respirator, as required.
- Available to work all shifts:

Weekdays (Mon-Thurs)

- Days: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Nights: 4:00 pm – 2:00 am
- Days: 6:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Nights: 5:00 pm – 4:00 am
