Our law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Property Damage Investigator (PD Investigator) to join our law firm. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into property damage claims, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing reports to support our legal team in building strong cases for clients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and experience in property damage assessment or investigations, who are looking to contribute to the success of a dynamic legal practice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-depth investigations of property damage incidents, including reviewing case files, inspecting properties, and collecting physical evidence.
2. Interview clients, witnesses, and relevant parties to gather testimony and additional information pertinent to the case.
3. Analyze and assess damage reports, insurance claims, and other relevant documents to determine the scope and cause of damage.
4. Work closely with attorneys and other team members to provide detailed reports, findings, and recommendations to support litigation.
5. Collaborate with experts, such as forensic engineers, contractors, or appraisers, to further evaluate damage and develop strategies for legal proceedings.
6. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of investigative findings and maintain organized records of all case materials.
7. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to property damage and claims investigation.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice/Law or a related field.
2. Proven experience (3+ years) in property damage investigations, insurance claims handling, or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of property damage assessment techniques and insurance claims processes.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly and concisely.
5. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate evidence and draw conclusions.
6. Familiarity with legal terminology and processes, especially related to property damage litigation.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
8. Professional certification in investigations or property damage assessment (preferred).

1. Investigative Skills: The ability to thoroughly investigate property damage claims, including gathering physical evidence, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing all available information to uncover the truth behind the damage.
2. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for spotting inconsistencies or important details that others may overlook, ensuring that all aspects of a case are thoroughly examined and documented.
3. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to assess damage reports, identify potential causes, and determine the most likely scenario, which can significantly impact case outcomes.
4. Communication Skills: The ability to clearly and effectively communicate findings through written reports, interviews, and testimony, ensuring that legal teams and clients understand complex information.
5. Legal Knowledge: A solid understanding of property damage laws, insurance claims processes, and legal terminology to ensure that investigations align with relevant legal standards and can be used effectively in litigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Background in professional services or legal industry; handling US-based clients.
2. A Licensed Private Detective.
