Your Role:

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for our Pickering/Mississauga, Ontario offices. Under the general supervision of a Team Leader or Manager, perform responsible and varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad filed of engineering. Participate in work planning required to achieve prescribed objectives. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:

- Perform Conceptual and/or detail engineering of I&C systems.
- Perform I&C equipment sizing, selection, and specification for various types of I&C equipment and produce equipment-related documentation.
- Provide input to the Drawing Office for preparation of various I&C related engineering drawings, such as: General Arrangements, Instrument Loops, Wiring and Connection diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM), etc.
- Maintain effective customer contact to enhance working relationships.
- Assist I&C Leaders and Manager with definition and monitoring of work scopes, deliverables, schedules and budget.
- Participate in walk-downs at the client’s facilities.
- Assist in providing responses to technical enquires from clients, technical reviewers, and regulatory agencies.
- Preparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables.
- Prepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids and technical submissions.
- Perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation in accordance with the Company QA programs and manuals.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/ Electromechanical Engineering and PEO membership.
- 5 years of engineering experience in design, installation, maintenance, and operation of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems: conventional and state-of-the-art design of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) for industrial installations.
- Relevant experience with the design and application of field instrumentation, i.e. sensors, transmitters, controllers, control valves, in industrial plants.
- Familiarity with PLC’s, assorted communications network protocols including copper and fiber media, power supplies, transducers, PID controllers, relays and power distribution devices.
- Familiarity with schematic capture, wire list and BOM generation tools, and a broad spectrum of electrical and electronic components and subsystems is desirable.
- Experience with nuclear power station electrical and control system design will be an asset.
- Familiarity with ASME pressure boundary instrumentation, CSA, IEEE, ISA or related engineering standards.
- Well developed communication, planning, and work organization skills.
- Ability to work in an integrated team environment, and to effectively interface with employees at all levels, and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment & Travel

- Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office per week.
- Frequent site visits to nuclear power generation facilities across Ontario.

Prior experience working in radiological environments is not required; training will be provided as needed.
