Hays has partnered with a long-standing Greater Toronto Area contractor who has been working on ICI projects for over five decades. They pride themselves on long-lasting relationships with their clients' and executing on their diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects. They offer a full suite of construction services including design and construction, using innovative thinking and logistical planning to execute on these projects. They have a large four-year project on the east side of the GTA and are in need of a Senior Project Coordinator.

Your new role

The Senior Project Coordinator will work out of a site office in Pickering, Ontario and report to the Senior Project Manager. Their primary focus will be to work with Project Managers, site personnel, clients, architects, engineers, and subtrades to ensure seamless coordination, documentation accuracy and high-quality project delivery. This individual will be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and can understand construction drawings inside and out. They will prepare tender packages, evaluate bids and support vendor negotiations as well as, maintain accurate logs for RFIs, submittals, equipment tracking, etc. They will participate in QA/QC inspections and assist in coordinating testing, commissioning and regulatory inspections. Finally, the Senior Project Coordinator will track safety documentation, orientations and incident reports.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful Senior Project Coordinator candidate will have at least 4 years of full-cycle experience on medium to large complex ICI projects ($30M+). They must have a degree or equivalent in construction, engineering or related field. They must be able to travel to a site office daily in Pickering, Ontario. The Senior Project Coordinator will have a strong ability to read and interpret multidisciplinary drawings and specifications and have a solid understanding of construction methodologies. They will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to work with project teams, architects, clients, sub-trades, site personnel, etc. Finally, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong problem-solving abilities, and have a solution-oriented mindset.
