About the Role
The Senior-Friendly Manager - Acute is a transformational leadership position focused on advancing care for older adults within their zone. Reporting to the Director of Acute Care in collaboration with the Strategic Health Network - Health of Older Adults, this role drives innovation, fosters collaboration, and advances evidence-based practices to transform care for older adults and contribute meaningfully to the provincial vision for Centres of Excellence in Aging.

Qualifications:

Education:

• A baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline or social sciences is required.

• A master's degree is preferred.

• Education and training in project management, change management, and quality improvement is an asset.

Experience:

• A minimum of three years' experience with older adults in acute care is required.

• Experience in project management and change management is an asset.

• Experience with quality improvement and/or process improvement.

• Previous leadership experience is an asset.

• Recent management experience is an asset.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Knowledge of the breadth and complexity of the care of older adults during hospitalization, with a good understanding of quality improvement principles, resource/capacity management, and pathway planning.

• A dynamic leadership style focused on self-awareness, managing performance and health, and aligning with NLHS's values of respect, integrity, fairness, organizational connectedness, and excellence.

• Engaging others through fostering development, contributing to a healthy organization, communicating effectively, and building effective teams.
