Join Shift as an Evening Child and Youth Care Worker in Vernon, B.
C. Contribute to the well-being of youth in a supportive residential setting focused on mental health treatment and crisis intervention. In this part-time role, you will provide critical support to youth aged 12-18 at a residential treatment home affiliated with The Maples adolescent treatment center. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, your focus will include helping youth achieve treatment goals while managing emotional crises and fostering healthy relationships. You will create a welcoming environment that enhances their recovery.
Key Responsibilities
• Support youth undergoing short-term mental health treatment
• Collaborate with the treatment team to meet care goals
• Assist during emotional crises and self-harm incidents
• Build connections and positive relationships with residents
• Facilitate access to community resources
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care
• Previous experience in a related field
• Strong crisis intervention skills
• Current driver's license and clean driving record
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS required Bring your expertise in youth care to help create meaningful change at Shift in Vernon.
