Be part of a Specialty Solutions leader with a book of business that spans more than 180 countries and seize the chance to make a global impact as we continue to grow beyond $20 billion of total annual premiums.We’re looking for a **Senior Underwriter** to join our Renewable Energy team **What you’ll do here:*** Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Intact underwriting guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by underwriting manager.* Develop business opportunities and long-term meaningful relationships with our broker partners by providing legendary service.* Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.* Answer inquiries and make recommendations to brokers and underwriters through verbal and written correspondence.* Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.* Review underwriting reports and make recommendations as required.* Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.* Support and mentor team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.**What you bring to the table:*** Post-secondary education or any combination of equivalent education and experience* Minimum 5 years underwriting experience in Specialty Lines or mid-to large market in Commercial Lines, and 1-2 years in energy underwriting.* Experience in renewable energy underwriting is an asset.* Strong customer service skills.* Demonstrates initiative, the ability to work under pressure, and are flexible to change* Strong analytical, negotiating skills and business savvy* Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers* Can make decisions in time sensitive situations, address complex problems, provide recommended course of action and take calculated risks* Strong verbal and written communication skills* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an intermediate Excel proficiency* No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.* For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country#LI- HybridIl s'agit d'un nouveau rôle au sein de notre équipe en plein croissance | This role is a new member of our growing team.***We are an equal opportunity employer****At Intact, our Value of respect is founded on seeing diversity as a strength.
