As a custodian, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational mission of our school by ensuring our facilities are clean, secure, and well-maintained.Key Responsibilities:Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areasMaintain cleaning equipment and restock suppliesEnsure building security and assist with facility safetyReport maintenance issues and safety concernsSupport event setup and takedown, and assist with furniture movesPerform seasonal tasks such as snow shoveling and outdoor maintenanceConduct minor maintenance on building systems and furniture repairs Collaborate with staff and project a positive image of the schoolWhat We're Looking For:High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 6 months of custodial or building maintenance experience preferred Valid WHMIS certification Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and safety regulationsAbility to operate custodial equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, vacuums, floor burnishers)Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook)Strong organizational, communication, and people skillsA demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periodsThe successful applicant will be required to provide a police information check with vulnerable sector as well as complete job specific pre-employment testing as a condition of the job offer.
