Summary:
DMC is currently looking for a Intermediate Engineer, Electrical, to join our team on a Permanent basis, in our Vaughan, ON office. The Intermediate Electrical Engineer is a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, responsible for coordinating and performing electrical engineering and design for specialized underground mining, shaft sinking, and mining construction projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Develops the design, calculations, engineering plans, and criteria for the electrical scope of work on mining projects.
2. Assesses the feasibility of proposed plans, projects, and equipment from an electrical perspective.
3. Participates in the planning and creation of drawings and designs involving detailed analysis and design of electrical systems.
4. Produces equipment specifications, datasheets, and scope of work.
5. Serves as the electrical package owner, overseeing the completion of the scope, managing deliverables, and tracking budget and scope changes.
6. Evaluates and reviews all electrical engineering work before being released including designs, drawings, code, and integration with other disciplines.
7. Ensures design compliance with relevant engineering standards and codes, as well as internal QA/QC procedures.
8. Supports the development of proposals, including methodology, budget estimation, and scheduling.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously through effective prioritization and schedule management.
10. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
2. Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario.
3. 6+ years of electrical engineering experience working on mining or heavy industrial projects.
4. Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, industry and regulatory codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, ISA, NFPA).
5. Proficiency with CSA M421 and OESC.
6. Hands-on experience in planning, engineering design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical and controls systems.
7. Experience in design of Low and Medium Voltage Distribution systems.
8. Exceptional communication and written skills.
9. Strong team player with ability to coordinate and work with other engineering disciplines.
10. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Navisworks.
11. Experience with Revit an asset.
12. Experience with Easy Power and ETAP is an asset.
