Senior AI Engineer

We're seeking a Senior AI Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to design and implement sophisticated agentic AI systems. The ideal candidate will architect intelligent orchestration platforms and have a proven track record of building production‑ready AI agents with seamless human‑in‑the‑loop integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop agentic AI architecture with advanced orchestration capabilities
- Build and standardize communication protocols between distributed AI systems
- Optimize context windows through sophisticated attention mechanisms and memory management
- Create comprehensive data models that support AI agent interactions
- Develop robust evaluation frameworks and automated testing suites for AI agent performance
- Implement human‑in‑the‑loop workflows that enhance agent decision‑making processes
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI capabilities into existing production systems
- Work closely with product teams and frontend developers to deliver seamless AI‑powered user experiences
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in AI/ML engineering with a focus on agent‑based systems
- Expert‑level proficiency in Python with strong software engineering practices
- Extensive experience with API design and system integrations
- Deep understanding of attention mechanisms, context optimization, and agent orchestration
- Proven track record of building evaluation frameworks and testing methodologies for AI systems
- Experience designing human‑in‑the‑loop systems and workflow automation
- Strong collaboration skills for cross‑functional team environments
- C# knowledge is advantageous for backend system integration
Other Details
We are seeking exceptional talent for 12‑month contract positions with the potential to transition to full‑time permanent roles. The estimated hourly range for this position would be $70–$140/hour CAD based on expertise, AI platform engineering experience, and leadership capabilities. This is a hybrid position, with candidates needing to be located within the Greater Vancouver area.
