You will be responsible for the full complement of AMD's APU and CPU designs, developing features and driving continuous improvement in all areas.The Person:We are looking for an individual that loves embedded software, inspired by advanced technologies, thrives in cross team collaboration and is excited at the prospect of rapidly switching gears and moving to new programs and technologies.Key Responsibilities:Assume end-to-end responsibility for post-silicon activities related to power, performance and system management in CPU/APU products.Hands-on firmware development for embedded u-controllers in C, feature enablement and test plans.Analyze existing firmware performance and identify optimization opportunities using AI/MLDesign and implement machine learning algorithms to enhance firmware efficiency and reliabilityOptimize AI models for deployment on resource-constrained embedded systemsPrototype FW power management features for future chips by implementing them on existing products and studying their efficiencyDevelop automated firmware tuning systems using reinforcement learning or genetic algorithmProactively drive quality improvements. Review team’s code and deliverables.Preferred Experience:Firmware Development: Prior, years of development experience in embedded systems programming (C/C++, assembly language)AI/ML Frameworks: Proficiency with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar machine learning frameworksProgramming Languages: Strong skills in Python, C/C++, and embedded programming languagesHardware Knowledge: Understanding of microcontrollers, FPGAs, and hardware-software interfacesAI Implementation: Experience deploying AI models on resource-constrained embedded systemsOptimization Techniques: Knowledge of code optimization, memory management, and real-time systemsHands-on programming in C / C++ and Python / Other scripting languages.Debugging embedded software / firmware.Understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithmsExperience with quantization, pruning, and edge AI optimization techniquesAbility to analyze firmware performance data and identify optimization opportunitiesCapability to design and implement custom AI algorithms for firmware applicationsAcademic Credentials:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred, especially with focus on AI/ML or embedded systems  #LI-LB1 Benefits offered are described:  AMD benefits at a glance. AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
