Position Summary

The Intermediate Accountant will support the accounting and finance department in managing corporate and subsidiary accounts by assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, and transaction processing. This role involves maintaining accurate records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency in financial software, and the ability to collaborate across multiple entities to support financial operations and decision-making.

Key Role Responsibilities

- Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records for corporate and subsidiary entities.

- Reconciliations: Perform bank, intercompany, and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure proper financial reporting.

- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

- Expense Management: Review and verify expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

- Tax & Compliance Support: Assist in tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance by maintaining proper documentation and records.

- Budgeting & Forecasting Assistance: Support the finance team in preparing budgets and financial projections.

- Data Analysis: Gather and analyze financial data to support decision-making and improve financial efficiency.

- Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and assistance for internal and external audits.

- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and two (2) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.

- Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.

- Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.

- Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products.

- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.

- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
