The Opportunity

SAIT’s Finance department is seeking a Business Solution Analyst to join our dynamic Business Solutions team

The Business Solution Analyst plays a pivotal part in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, supporting the management and optimization of integrated finance systems that enable both departmental and institution-wide operations. This role requires a high degree of technical adaptability and knowledge of AI agents and generative AI tools.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Finance Reporting and Analytics, this position collaborates with Finance leaders and other partners across the institution to strengthen reporting capabilities, streamline processes, and provide expert technical support.

Business Solution Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining reports, performing system administration tasks, and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement that drive Finance’s overall effectiveness.

The Role

- Configure, maintain, and enhance Finance reporting systems such as Adaptive, Argos, Tableau, and Power BI, to align with departmental goals and processes.

- Gather requirements, develop, and test financial reports to ensure accuracy and usability.

- Collaborate with the Team Lead and Business Analysts to identify process improvement opportunities and implement strategies that increase efficiency in reporting and analytics tools.

- Advance the use of AI tools and generative AI to drive efficiencies and automation within Finance.

- Coach and mentor Business Analysts on business process re‑engineering initiatives and complex tasks, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.

- Prepare and lead training sessions for staff, proactively addressing knowledge gaps and clarifying expectations.

- Act as a catalyst for change by supporting business process and system improvements in alignment with Finance’s strategic direction.

- Provide solutions for complex business challenges based on guidance from the Manager or Finance leadership.

- Provide coverage for the Team Lead and Business Analysts as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Systems or Business discipline is required.

- Minimum 3 years of experience with report development.

- 3 - 5 years of experience working with SQL.

- Strong understanding of reporting systems such as Adaptive, Argos, Tableau, and Power BI.

- Experience with AI agents and generative AI platforms, such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT is preferred.

- 3+ years of experience with financial modeling is an asset.

- 3+ years of experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is an asset.

- Business Intelligence certification is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills in a business or finance environment.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical contacts.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $88,000

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
