Overview
Alberta’s Auditor General is a nonpartisan officer of the Legislature appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly.
As Auditor General you are the auditor of all government ministries, departments, funds and provincial agencies. You will also make recommendations to government and public agencies on opportunities and solutions for improved performance reporting and the use of public funds.
Requirements
This position demands leadership qualities that extend beyond academic credentials or technical expertise. In addition to meeting the knowledge, experience and skill requirements, the successful candidate will bring a strong record of executive‑level achievement in complex organizational environments, demonstrating the ability to apply balanced, commonsense judgment while upholding fairness and integrity in all decisions. A progressive history of accomplishments, professional credibility and respect within the community is essential, along with a public service orientation and a clear understanding of the political and governance context in which this role operates.
Salary
The current salary range for the position is $232,747 to $312,884, dependent on qualifications.
