• Shift premium: $3.25 weekend, $2.75 evening

Available Districts
North Region: Athabasca, Cold Lake, Grande Prairie, Peace River, Fort McMurray, Lakeland, Slave Lake
Central Region: Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House, Camrose, Wainwright, Hinton, Spruce Grove
South Region: Dinosaur, Southeast (Cypress Hills & Writing-on-Stone), Pincher Creek, Lethbridge

Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional customer service to visitors, providing accurate information and resolving issues.
- Rove trails, campgrounds, and day-use areas using foot, bike, motor vehicle, or off‑highway vehicle.
- Educate visitors on the Provincial Parks Act, regulations, and encourage voluntary compliance.
- Support incident management, monitor site conditions, and foster respectful behavior.
- Participate in emergency response protocols, including activation of Park Emergency Response Plans.
- Support installation of signage (warnings, advisories, boundaries).
- Comply with the occupational health and safety program.
- Mentor and assist a team of Park Rangers at the site level.
- Co‑operate with staff to ensure efficient operations within the park or district.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- High school diploma and one year related experience.
- Strong communication and/or leadership experience.
- Equivalency: one year experience for one year education, or vice versa.

Additional Education and Experience

- Preference for post‑secondary education in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Recreation/Tourism Management, Criminology/Justice Studies.
- Preference for experience in Parks, Lands, Wildfire, Public Education, strong communication skills.

Additional Requirements

- Current Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED (expiry after Sep 2026).
- Class 5 Driver's License and valid Driver’s Abstract.
- Criminal Record Check and WHMIS course.

Desired Assets

- Knowledge of Provincial Parks Legislation, Indigenous culture, Alberta flora and fauna.
- Conflict management, public communication, and front‑facing customer service experience.
- Outdoor skills certifications, incident command systems familiarity, valid chainsaw and ATV/UTV certifications.

Work Terms & Logistics

Seasonal wage opportunity from late April to early September; extensions possible. Shift work includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. On‑site shared staff housing available for rent (pet restrictions). Work schedule and interview dates as described.
