Under the supervision of the Manager Accounts Receivable, Credit & Cash Application, the Technician, Cash Application is responsible for processing payments received from customers and entering them into the AS400 computer system. The incumbent is also responsible for point-of-sale terminal reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and provides support to the collectors, the accounting department, and the service centers on issues that relate to cash application and the end-of-day process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Carry out all activities related to cash application of payments received by cheque, electronic funds transfer, and credit card.

- Perform bank reconciliation and credit card payments reconciliation (Moneris System).

- Perform check deposits using the bank scanner.

- Perform journal entries to accounts receivable.

- Perform journal entries for bad debt write-offs.

- Perform ledger reconciliation.

- Perform daily reconciliation of point-of-sale terminals for service centers in Canada.

- Provide support to service centers on the point-of-sale's "end-of-day" process.

- Manage Moneris's merchant number requests.

- Participate in various process improvement projects.

- Perform any other tasks related to these functions, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

- DEC or Diploma of professional studies in administration or accounting.

- One (1) to two (2) years of cash application experience.

- Master basic accounting concepts (journal entries, bank reconciliation, etc.).

- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite: Strong knowledge of Excel.

- Good sense of organization and teamwork.

- Ability to manage a large volume, prioritize tasks, and follow up.

- Meticulousness, rigor, and autonomy.

- Knowledge of AS400 and Oracle would be an asset.

- Bilingualism (French and English); oral and written communication skills in both languages.
