Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a Field Engineering, Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you'll have the opportunity to work with a progressive group of Engineering experts. The successful candidate will be exposed to project management lifecycles, field operations and engineering design and standards over the course of their term. You will spend a large portion of your term working alongside our Field Engineering Team to gain valuable office & field experience.

This position is based in our Burnaby and Westridge Terminals and will report to the Manager, Engineering.

Duration: May 5, 2025, to August 29, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the development of Engineered Job Plans for brownfield construction projects.
- Support the implementation of Engineered Job Plans for field-based activities at various operational facilities.
- Support the management and development of capital and operational projects, which could include project concept development, procurement and forecasting.
- Support field engineering in the red-lining and review of various process diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Exposure to purchasing activities, contractor management, field execution and project close-out activities.

Qualifications and Professional Experience:

- Currently working towards a post-secondary degree, in your 3rd or 4th year of Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
- Ability to take on tasks proactively.
- Technical understanding of pipelines would be an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of software (ex., Outlook/Word/Excel/SharePoint/Teams).
- Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Experience working in operational facilities would be an asset.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is critical with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other requirements and Information:

- Must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies in the Fall term.
- Travel to work sites is required (20-40%).
- Valid class 5 driver's license or equivalent is required and access to a vehicle.

The expected pay range for this position is $26.69 to $33.62 CAD per hour.
