The Roadways & Transportation team impacts the lives of residents within our community every single day. The Roadways Seasonal Operations branch is a crucial part of our City's service delivery, and we are looking for a dynamic and impactful leader to enhance our potential and implement corporate objectives.

The Manager, Roadways Seasonal Operations provides long and short term operational and program planning, financial management, and stakeholder relationship management, and the role is responsible for delivering the City's winter maintenance operations program. The core functions of this operational service include road, sidewalk and alley plowing, ice control, snow removal, and operating the Snow Storage Site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Responsible for the management, administration, development, implementation, and delivery of the City's winter maintenance and snow clearing programs for the road, sidewalk and alley network.
- Develop and implement a 24/7 shift schedule cycle that ensures adequate coverage, adheres to company policies, promotes road safety, and supports employee work/life balance.
- Continuous improvement and tracking and monitoring Key Performance Indicators in relation to the Winter Maintenance Policy.
- Responsible for overseeing financial reporting, providing strategic insights for decision making, and developing a comprehensive long-term financial plan.
- Actively promote and maintain a culture of safety over service and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Standards to protect the employees in the workplace.
- Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement, building strong relationships, and encouraging collaboration across all levels of the organization.
