Manager, Systemic Therapy

The JCC offers a wide array of systemic therapy options including chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. These agents when used alone or in combination with surgery and radiation therapy, offer patients relief from their cancer and in many cases cure. Each year, the JCC enrolls hundreds of patients in clinical trials, which enables access to the most leading edge treatments as well as the opportunity to contribute to the world wide discovery of new ways of treating cancers. Systemic therapy services are administered by an Interprofessional team of medical oncologists, hematologists, and gynecologic oncologists, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians each with special training and expertise. Accountable to the Director of Integrated Cancer Treatment Services and working in collaboration with the JCC Management team, the Clinical Manager of Systemic Therapy is responsible for managing the day- to-day operations to ensure safe, timely, effective delivery of systemic therapy. The Clinical Manager of systemic therapy is accountable for fostering an environment that promotes staff engagement, team development, quality patient care and service, and is responsible for human resources and fiscal management. These accountabilities are conducted in alignment with the values and strategic priorities for HHS and Ontario Health – Cancer Care Ontario. Qualifications1. Possess at least 5 years of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferably with experience in oncology2. Graduate of a regulated healthcare professional program or related discipline (Master’s preferred)3. Demonstrated experience applying quality improvement and change management methodology (LEAN, Six Sigma)4. Experience with Operations Research, Process Engineering, or Modeling/Simulation in systemic therapy or related setting, is a strong asset5. High level ability to critically analyze situations as well as data/information in both daily operations and long term strategic planning6. Experience managing, coaching and developing others7. Knowledge of budgeting processes and ability to analyze fiscal and patient care data8. Awareness of program planning, standards development and program evaluation9. Ability to create, monitor, and drive initiatives involving cross-functional teams10. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills11. Collaboration with team members on cross-departmental improvement efforts, quality improvement projects, optimization of cost management12. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail13. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload14. Demonstrated ability to influence through excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills 15. Computer skills16.
