In this job, you will be inspecting and validating component parts and completed products for conformance to quality standards defined in Drawings, BOMs, Check sheets, and Specifications, as well as aligning to customer requirements and ISO standards.

As a Quality Inspector, you will:

- Perform receiving inspection as required.
- Perform In-process and final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
- Perform internal process/quality system audits as required, reporting all findings.
- Apply sound judgment in making quality-related decisions and problem-solving.
- Exercise the authority to "shut down" non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Director of Operations.
- Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
- Participate in Customer inspection as needed.
- Create and assist team members in writing and entering NCRs.
- Assist in the evaluation of non-conforming components, such as conducting dimensional analysis of components to help identify potential issues as needed, material sorting/quarantined/dispositioning.
- Write CAR/CIIs for audits and assist employees who wish to report a problem requiring corrective action.
- Report violations of ISO Standards to the Quality Manager.
- Participate in the prototype review process for all newly developed products as needed.
- Review supplier documentation including dimensional analysis, certifications, and SPC data.
- Develop/maintain necessary documentation and assist in the control of documentation.
- Regularly engage in communication and cooperation with cross-functional teams to meet quality standards and shipment deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has a high school diploma or GED in combination with work experience in quality inspection and/or blueprint diagram interpretation and with precision measuring devices.
- Demonstrates proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or technical engineering-related disciplines.
- Has 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing drawings and schematics.
- Is able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
- Has a solid understanding and experience utilizing measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, multimeters, and other precision measuring devices.
- Has the ability to read, review, and create technical documents.
- Has a strong attention to detail.
- Is proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- Has good written and verbal communication skills.
- Has the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with subordinates, members of management, suppliers, and other employees.

We prefer someone who:

- Has the ability to read and understand wiring and ladder diagrams.
- Is knowledgeable in GD&T, basic electrical testing, and welding inspection.
- Has experience using ERP systems.

Shift:

This is an afternoon shift position running Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM. Successful candidates must be able to train on the day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for a minimum of 3 months before transitioning to the afternoon shift.

- Light lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
- Heavy lifting (occasional 25 lbs +)
- Pushing/pulling between 75-100 lbs of force on lever arms during switch inspection on a frequent basis.

Pay Range is typically between $21.63 and $27.88 per hour.
