Job Title: Special Pack Assembler Location: ODC

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring all Special Pack orders are prepared and shipped in a timely and efficient manner. This position is responsible for working with other warehouse personnel to assemble the orders, all while working in a safe, efficient and courteous manner.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Oversee the picking, assembling and packing of wines and accessories to fill various orders i.e.: Export, Duty Free, DTH, DTC, DTL, EWG, Wine Clubs and Service Stock.
2. Ensure all shipments are properly prepared for shipping including attaching a bill of lading and packing labels, regardless of size or quantity.
3. Ensure components and UPC codes match prior to assembling order. Complete necessary paperwork for assembly.
4. Report any quality issues, as they relate to product damage, to the Warehouse Supervisor.
5. Conduct a monthly cycle count to ensure inventory is available for orders & shipping.
6. Record product on-hand and work with warehouse staff to resolve any discrepancies.
7. Remove skids from packaging area and stage orders for shipment.
8. Provide thorough and consistent communication with warehouse operators to ensure product is shipped on time.
9. Provide leadership, training and support to part-time staff.
10. Consistently provide excellent internal and external Customer Service.
11. Complete any other duties that may be requested on an ad hoc basis.
12. Ensure that the work area is neat, clean and organized.
13. Follow safe working procedures and practices and report any unsafe working conditions / hazards to the Warehouse Manager.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

- Reports to : Warehouse Supervisor / Manager

DIMENSIONS

- Process up to 50 orders per day, consisting of 1 – 100 bottles per order.
- 8 Trade Channels to service
- Support all trade channels nationally and internationally for APL

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical Effort:

- Physical demands - ability to lift from 9kg to 16 kg on a regular basis, prolonged standing and walking within a warehouse environment.

Physical Environment:

- Open warehouse environment.
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 – 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sensory Attention:

- Adhere to the corporate policies and procedures within the environment of a warehouse.
- Close attention to order processing procedures for the different trade channels.
- Substantial attention to detail while processing orders and inventory counts.
- Moderate to high levels of pressure for results. Deals with time-sensitive orders with an emphasis on low to no error rates.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are an asset.
- Experience in Oracle and Canada Post EST 2.0 Software is an asset.
- Leadership skills – proven ability to direct a team of individuals.
- Ability to make decisions and problem-solve issues.
- Strong attention to detail.
