Position Overview

As our Senior Logistics Manager, you will develop comprehensive logistics plans and budgets to support job bids, proposals, and contracts. You will oversee the transportation of purchased and finished goods for both inbound and outbound freight, ensuring safe, practical, and cost‑effective delivery using common or specialized carriers. This position reports to the Shipping & Logistics Export Controls Manager.

Your Day-to-Day as our Senior Logistics Manager

- Plan and execute delivery of finished goods to domestic and international customers.

- Ensure service levels meet BWXT Canada expectations and contractual obligations.

- Negotiate rates and service requirements with transportation providers.

- Coordinate release and delivery of purchased materials to factories and jobsites in line with procurement schedules and customs regulations.

- Audit and approve transportation and customs invoices, ensuring correct application of contract charges.

- Develop transportation cost estimates and manage budgets for projects with moderate technical requirements and risk.

- Review contract bid specifications, identify risks/opportunities, and assess customer site delivery requirements.

- Manage dimensional deliveries and compliance with Nuclear code requirements.

- Coordinate and oversee BWXT Customs Broker activities, including invoice and customs entry audits.

- Submit export declarations to CBSA and Statscan; consult on USMCA requirements.

- Manage customs refund claims, reporting, and Export Control Compliance submissions.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Transportation, Business, or related field, with 3+ years’ experience.

- CCS (Canada Customs Specialist) designation is an asset.

- Expertise in all transportation modes, especially large equipment.

- Strong knowledge of international customs, trade regulations, and transportation law.

- Skilled in negotiation, problem‑solving, and stakeholder communication.

- Proficient with ERP systems and office technology.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,000 and $106,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
