Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of Strategic Stakeholder Engagement to join our Strategic Stakeholder Engagement team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of conceiving, developing, and delivering successful stakeholder engagement initiatives, either client-side or at a healthcare agency. This person will be responsible for managing the overarching stakeholder engagement strategy for their clients and will work closely with the client to ensure they develop mutually beneficial partnerships and bring organizational excellence and recognition to their company and their team.

A passion for healthcare, the stakeholder ecosystem and innovative solutions in stakeholder engagement are a must. Driven by an understanding of how pharma engages with Key External Stakeholders in strategically identifying the right expert for the right engagement.

This role serves as the strategic driver between clients and internal teams to execute stakeholder strategies and initiatives. This role is responsible for helping to conceive and implement stakeholder strategies that will contribute to achieving client business objectives. This individual will be responsible for the overall success and growth of the account, with attention to detail and flawless execution.

This is a leadership role in the organization with room to expand your professional skill set and scope of responsibility. The successful candidate will need to combine health experience with business acumen and an ability to work across disciplinary boundaries. In addition, this person must be able to learn quickly while educating a wide variety of disciplines throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary SME and point of contact for clients, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met
- Serve as the SSE champion across all levels of the organization to generate excitement and advocacy for the craft, including on-going networking and cross-collaboration with CST leadership
- Develop strategic, well-informed, and insightful external stakeholder engagement plans
- Support the client's stakeholder engagement strategy by continually assessing collaborations with key external stakeholders and drive cohesive and transparent interactions and collaboration outcomes
- Ensure positive client experience and provide thought leadership to continually advance the client's stakeholder strategy with a future-forward mindset
- Oversee and provide guidance on project briefs, including necessary SME and associated staffing ratio
- Ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest quality, leveraging a key understanding of the client's internal ecosystem
- Drive the continuous growth and evolution of the agency's Strategic Stakeholder Engagement craft, processes, products, and tools to drive greater efficiency, quality, and consistency across the organization
- Strategically collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientific innovation/medical communications, medical strategy, client services, project management, and advocacy to ensure optimization for growth and cross-selling opportunities
- Lead new business pitches as the SME for SSE
- Build, develop and identify opportunities for SSE direct reports
- Provide strategic recommendations that will support client's mid and long-term business objectives
- Ensure mentoring of direct reports; imparting knowledge and experience in creating and sustaining effective stakeholder partnerships
- Serve as financial steward to client budgets
- Ensure all communications reflect the Klick Health standards and serve as team lead in developing a positive client experience
- Set short-term and longer-term planning objectives and results, by anticipating and mitigating potential risks and opportunities

Knowledge and Expertise:

- Experience in working in a communications agency or a health communications function preferred
- Knowledge and experience of working across multiple disease states is desirable
- Knowledge and experience of brand-related communications and strategy
- Experience in stakeholder management or client service a must
- Knowledge and experience creating and sustaining effective stakeholder/industry partnerships in healthcare
- Excellence in writing, developing and implementing strategic stakeholder engagement plans, or other strategic business plans preferred
- Ability to activate professional network and evaluate new business opportunities in collaboration with SSE growth partner
- Excellence in organizational and time management skills
- Extensive business acumen in healthcare, pharmaceutical-industry, competitors, key drivers in the macro-environment
- Exceptional client service mindset, in both delivery and solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; demonstrates ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Strategic Skills and Tools:

- Strong executive presence, with advanced communication and presentation skills
- Keen understanding of and expertise in the stakeholder ecosystem including opinion leaders, Payers, Patient Advocacy Organizations, Professional Medical Societies, and C-Suite executives
- Experience in teaching, coaching and mentoring direct reports on the strategies, theories and tactics of stakeholder relations management
- Strong project and program management skills
- Proficient in external stakeholder desktop research on KOLs, PMAs and PAGs in order to develop and implement strategic stakeholder objectives
- Exemplary judgment in decision-making and problem-solving; uncover stakeholder needs aligned to business objectives
- Create and lead tactical/program idea generation as needed
- Drive cross collaboration and generate opportunities across various internal Klick stakeholders and teams
- Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory and legal compliance guidelines
- Understanding of the clinical development process
- Comfort with and enthusiasm for integrating AI into your work

Years of Experience:

- 10+ years of professional and external stakeholder experience in medical communications, healthcare communications or client side/pharmaceutical company, or 3 plus years an advanced degree in the life sciences
- BA/BS Degree, focus in Business or Science ideal
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets and Word
