The District Manager, reporting to the Area Operations Manager, is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of propane and associated services within a defined geographic area. This role provides leadership to frontline teams, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The District Manager plays a critical role in aligning field execution with corporate strategy, driving performance through effective workforce management, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability. What you’ll do: - Champion a safety‑first culture and ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. - Conduct regular field visits and coaching sessions to reinforce Zero Harm principles. - Maintain compliance with Department of Transport and enterprise HSE standards. - Oversee daily delivery and service operations across the District. - Ensure adherence to delivery protocols, route schedules, and service standards. - Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to address customer feedback and resolve issues. - Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of drivers, technicians, and plant/utility staff. - Collaborate with HR and Logistics on seasonal staffing models and workforce planning. - Drive accountability and employee engagement through clear communication and performance management. - Manage district‑level budgets and control costs, including overtime and fleet utilization. - Monitor and enforce KPIs related to delivery, service, safety, and resource productivity. - Provide frontline input to Finance, HR, and other corporate functions to inform strategic decisions. - Ensure compliance with fleet maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reduce costs. - Oversee infrastructure and inventory management, including propane tanks and parts. What you bring: - Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in operations, preferably in the propane, energy or utilities sector. - Post‑secondary education in Business Administration, operations management or related field is an asset. - Proven experience managing frontline teams including drivers, technicians and service specialists within a unionised environment. - Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. - Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance. - Effective communicator with experience in cross‑functional collaboration across departments like HR, Finance, Logistics and Sales.
