Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.
Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.
As a federal Crown corporation, Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.
With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. The expansion realizes a world-class system for oil transport, developed to Canada's high standards within one of the most stringent regulatory regimes in the world, creating long-term economic benefits, enhanced marine protection, enhanced safety and emergency management capabilities, and enhanced skilled-worker capacity building in communities and Indigenous groups.

As the Edmonton Operations, Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced group of Operations experts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain operations experience, visit nearby operation sites, and a variety of other valuable learnings and experiences in a collaborative team environment.
This position is based in our Edmonton Terminal and will report to the Supervisor, Operations.
Duration: May 5, 2025 to August 29, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the Edmonton Operations Office, Control Centre, Regional Office, and Terminal.
2. Provide support to the Regional Budget Analyst, such as data entry and database updates.
3. Assist with planning and set up of company activities and events.
4. Assist with monthly safety checks at the Operations Office and Control Center.
5. Pick up, receive, distribute, and send out internal mail.
6. Maintain Operations Office and Control Centre grounds (i.e., weeding, planting, watering flowers, coordinating landscapers, window cleaning, etc.).
7. Order and maintain office supplies, coffee, and janitorial supplies for the Edmonton Operations Office and Control Centre.
8. Consolidate files and ship to Calgary for retention.
9. Assist with special projects and other duties as required.
Qualifications and Professional Experience:
1. Enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program, Finance and other Business disciplines with at least one year completed.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft systems – Outlook/Word/Excel/SharePoint/WebEx/Microsoft Calendar.
3. Clerical, organizational, and administrative skills.
4. Strong interpersonal communication skills and willingness to assist all manner of requests from fellow employees and the public.
5. Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
6. Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
7. Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Attention to detail is critical.
9. Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
10. Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
11. Some database and analytical experience are preferred.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other Requirements and Information:
1. Must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution, returning to full-time studies in the Fall term.
2. Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
The expected pay range for this position is $24.61 to $33.48 CAD per hour.
