Overview

As a Planner II, Demand Planning, you will directly support Supply Chain delivery and cost performance at the company. Demand Planners are responsible for gathering data to create a forecast to support budget management, validate demand from different sources, create requisition plans and manage inventory levels including surplus and obsolete materials. As a demand planner, your goal as part of the supply chain procurement team is to have required material available for the shipyard above 95% in line with agreed fulfillment, purchasing and storage strategies. Reporting to the Demand Planning Lead, this role with collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, production, and operations

What you will be doing

- Support in the development of demand planning processes and continuous process improvement

- Define scope, consolidate, and validate demand utilizing design, manufacturing, and inventory data to build full shipset forecasts for all current and future builds for your assigned category/sub-categories.

- Develop requisition plans and request requisition creation based on agreed on parameters for material availability and adjust demand based on supply chain constraints (MOQ, MPQ etc.)

- Maintain a master procurement catalogue of parts and demand plan for all vessels for your category and sub-categories including information provided by other departments and pillars of procurement.

- Capture forecast changes generated by Engineering revisions in adherence to the demand planning validation process in place.

- Manage inventory to ensure material availability above 95% for all current builds, utilizing surplus material to transfer to other projects, diverting material between projects and identifying obsolete material and inventory applicability to other projects to minimize wastage/write-offs.

- Identify disconnects to supply and demand and collaborate with other working partners to align validated data through change processes in place.

- Perform analysis work on parts under your scope in addition to reporting and/or other duties as assigned and/or requested to support current and future projects.

What you must have

- 3-5 years’ proven experience in demand planning/forecasting/supply chain/inventory management or related field

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business, Mathematics or Economics.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies

- Manufacturing or production line experience in multiple industries and commodities.

- Advanced skills in excel for complex analyses, experience in Power BI highly regarded.

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MRP software and tools.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.

- Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

- Detail oriented, quality and precision focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments.

- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to gather feedback to identify needs and challenges.

- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.

- Experience with six sigma methodologies, concepts and tools would be an asset.

Salary/Rate Range

$41.00 -$50.00 per hour
