JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Talent Acquisition Specialist.
Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for the hiring of full-time and temporary employees with a focus on the hiring manager and candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for engaging with talent to meet the organization's needs while ensuring processes and governance are followed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Support Business Leaders: Assist line clients; hiring managers with their talent requirements; build networks to source the best talent possible while ensuring that recruitment processes and best practices are followed; while providing the best level of service and support to the business.
2. Hiring Needs Assessment: Assist in defining hiring managers' search requirements, the scope, and understanding of roles and responsibilities.
3. Candidate Screening: Review and screen candidates; evaluations including resume screening.
4. Recruitment Strategy & Approach: Establish recruiting and onboarding requirements by understanding organizational plans and objectives.
5. Equity & Diversity Recruitment: Support various diversity hiring initiatives to support further equity recruitment throughout the business.
6. Business Change & Continuous Improvements: Help to drive changes to improve support to the business.
7. Industry Best Practices: Participate in appropriate networks and forums to maintain knowledge of leading practices in recruitment.
8. Compensation & Negotiations: Review internal compensation equity; help guide leaders on fair and equitable pay principles.
9. Applicant Tracking System (ATS) utilization, Data and Metrics: Continuously utilize an applicant tracking system throughout the recruitment process.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. 4 Year University Degree in Social Sciences, Business, Human Resources, or a related field with relevant experience.
2. Minimum of 4 years of recruitment experience required.
3. Strong recruitment advisory capabilities.
4. Strong interpersonal skills.
5. Experience recruiting and working with equity deserving candidates.
6. Experience with ATS systems, specifically SAP SuccessFactors.
7. Previous experience recruiting for a wide variety of roles.
8. Experience working in/for/on behalf of highly regulated industries.
9. Experience recruiting for or on behalf of a unionized environment.
