Berachain is a high-performance, EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible, Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK. We're a young, world-class team of experts in computer science, type theory, economic game theory, risk management, and enterprise development. Our team combines traditional experience in building and scaling teams at technology companies like Apple, Coinbase, IBM, and Y-Combinator with crypto native experience from some of DeFi’s most impactful protocols.

At Berachain, you’ll join a team of experienced founders, engineers, and researchers dedicated to designing sustainable economic and blockchain systems. We are well funded by leading digital asset investors, hedge funds, centralized exchange venture arms, and strategic angels.

Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in software development and relevant blockchain technologies.
- Strong understanding of blockchain, consensus protocols, distributed systems, cryptography, compilers, and P2P systems.
- Experience in writing Golang programs, understanding best practices, concurrency, packages go/*, and reflection; able to produce production-quality code.
- Experience creating microservices with Kubernetes, Ansible, Docker, Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX network stack (TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Expertise in networking, distributed systems, storage, databases, operating systems, or runtimes to interpret research papers and design systems.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and orchestration tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef for deploying systems on clouds. Interest in open, decentralized, permissionless tech, and the intersection of tech, economics, finance, and governance.
- Experience in designing and evaluating secure systems, including cryptography and DoS attack prevention.
- We especially encourage candidates with some of the above experience but no prior blockchain work.
Nice to have:
- Contributions to Cosmos-SDK or Tendermint Core
- Passion for blockchain, use of DeFi apps, and belief in decentralization's potential to transform finance.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and implement novel consensus mechanisms.
- Develop distributed network testing tools.
- Collaborate with the Protocol team to improve consensus mechanisms.
