Sr. Development Professional

Our client is a leading Real Estate Developer in the GTA. We are conducting a search for a Sr. Development Professional to join this dynamic team. The role provides oversight and integration of project activities performed by various functional areas (planning, sales and marketing, construction, accounting, design, value engineering, color selection & personalization, master planning, and property management) by building strong relationships with all key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage all land development and site acquisition responsibilities for a number of projects and trade areas within the portfolio.

- Responsive to development opportunities in accordance with the project plan approval procedures.

- Involved with site acquisition and dealing with various consultants throughout the acquisition process.

- Execute approved project plans through coordination with external consultants and development staff.

- Oversee the approvals process from official plan amendments and site plan approvals as well as manage the approval process for zoning and rezoning permits.

- Identify suitable sites for retail development within specified markets.

- Provide project status updates in accordance with project plan approval procedures, project update meetings, and project plan revisions or updates to senior management and/or JV partners.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Land Economics, or related field, and/or Professional Designation.

- Minimum 10 years of experience in high‑rise land development working with the Toronto Municipality.

- Demonstrable experience in seeking land use entitlements.

- Managing a professional consultant team, stakeholders, and government department relationships.

- Must own a personal vehicle and have a valid driver’s license as some travel will be required.
