HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the CFO, the HR Generalist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all HR functions to support the company’s growth and operational excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands‑on expertise in recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and culture development, thriving in an independent yet collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead full‑cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and selection, ensuring alignment with AGNORA’s values and operational needs. Oversee onboarding processes to integrate new hires effectively.

- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns, fostering a positive workplace culture, helping coordinate employee functions, and managing conflict resolution. Provide guidance on performance management and disciplinary actions.

- Policy & Compliance: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with Ontario employment laws (e.g., ESA, OHSA, AODA). Maintain employee records and ensure data privacy.

- Compensation & Benefits: Administer payroll (in collaboration with accounting), manage benefits programs, and recommend competitive compensation strategies to attract and retain talent.

- Training & Development: Identify training needs, coordinate professional development opportunities, and support career growth initiatives to enhance employee skills and engagement.

- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align HR initiatives with business goals, providing insights on workforce planning, succession, and organizational development.

- Health & Safety: Participate in the JHSC and oversee workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and fostering a safe, healthy work environment.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent work experience.

- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.

- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience.

- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.

- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees at all levels.

- Experience with HRIS systems, payroll administration, and Microsoft Office.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

- Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments is an asset.
