Position Overview
We are currently seeking compassionate and self-driven Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) or Registered Nurses (RN) to support our community vaccination program for home-bound clients. Currently, we are administering seasonal vaccines for COVID, RSV, and Flu. We are looking for 3-4 nurses who drive and live in the SCARBOROUGH area.
Schedule
- We have an urgent need for nurses who are available to start working ASAP and have flexible/DAY TIME availability for scheduling.
- MUST be available 5 days/week to perform 7-10 visits/day in the home/community setting, between the hours of 9am-7pm. Your day will consist of providing health education, administering seasonal vaccines, documentation, and driving between clients and our office
- This program is expected to run until March 2026, we have other community-based nursing opportunities for those who are interested in continuing with The Care Company in another capacity.

Requirements
- Previous experience administering vaccines is REQUIRED
- Experience administering vaccines in clinical or community settings, including proper cold-chain handling and safe injection practices, is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle are REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable travelling throughout East York and Scarborough area
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to monitor clients pre- and post-immunization and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions
- Ability to provide clear and compassionate health education to clients and families regarding vaccines, side effects, and after-care
- Proficiency in completing all required documentation, including paper consent forms, administration records, and electronic MAR entries
- Previous experience using AlayaCare (or similar electronic charting systems) is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills when working with diverse community populations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced mobile clinics or in-home community settings
- Comply with organizational policies regarding infection control, client safety, privacy, and professional conduct; report all hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
The following Requirements are MANDATORY for all Care Company nurses:
- Active registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, completed through a recognized training provider within the past 12 months.
- Valid WHMIS 2015 certification, issued or renewed within the past 12 months.
- Negative TB test (2-step or 1-step with prior documentation), completed within the past 12 months.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or exemption in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, issued within the past 12 months.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, for documentation and communication with clients and care teams.
- Must be comfortable and capable of providing care to both male and female clients of varying ages and care needs.
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
- Demonstrated experience delivering vaccinations/immunizations is strongly preferred.
