This company is committed to customer service and aims to foster long-term relationships within the industry. They are seeking a Manual Lathe Machinist to join their team Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are being made according to specifications
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, inside diameter gauges, and outside diameter gauges
- Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
- Set up and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machine
- Work from sketches, verbal, and print information in order to produce projects according to specifications
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as manual mills/lathes, drill press, sanders, grinders, and other support equipment to perform precision machining operations
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards
- Other duties assigned Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of machining experience
- Demonstrated Ability to Utilize Measuring Equipment in support of Quality Requirements
- Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints and Sketches
- Ability to hold tight machining tolerances (1/2 thou)
- Ability to Understand various Tooling Technology
- Must possess strong attention to detail
