Senior Civil Engineer page is loaded## Senior Civil Engineerlocations: CA.ON.Mississauga.2251 Speakman Drivetime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R-137334### **Job Description****Your role within the team:*** Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.* Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.* Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using for example ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs.* Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans.* Develop conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design.* Prepare technical specification documents.* Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.* Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.* Review and comment on the work performed by the others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.* Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with Company QA programs and manuals.* Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.* Prepare Engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals.* Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.**Why choose** **AtkinsRéalis**Because we offer:* The opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.* An exciting environment where work-life balance is important.* A wide array of learning and development opportunities.* Competitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.* A work environment focused on health and safety.**The ideal candidate:*** Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University. Master's degree and above is an asset.* Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.* Minimum 12 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures.* Would prefer someone with 3 to 5 years of design experience in Nuclear Power Plants.* Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design-office and site experience.* Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering.* Thorough knowledge of use of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.* Must have experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.* Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.* Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.* Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset.* Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.* Ability to manage to work effectively under tight schedules and budget.* Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).* Travel to client site is required.At AtkinsRéalis, we seek to hire individuals with diverse characteristics, backgrounds, and perspectives.
