In this role, you will be responsible for operating the equipment safely and efficiently, according to established practices, procedures, and guidelines.**Minimum Requirements:*** 5 years of working experience as a Power Engineer* Fourth Class Power Engineer’s ticket* Ability to interpret Alberta Safety Code Regulation, which includes ASME Codes and others* Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record**Responsibilities:*** Intervene directly with the shift organization and the business team accountable on any issues that are not in compliance or have the potential of not being in compliance* Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to independently devise new/modified methods and approaches or develop new/modified processes, to resolve non-routine needs or problems* Complete regular field checks to monitor plant performance* Troubleshoot and identify equipment issues of the operating unit* Complete equipment start-up and shutdown activities* Prepare and return equipment for maintenance* Complete equipment isolations and de-isolations* Develop or participate in the development of safe work plans as required* Monitor all activities in area of responsibility for compliance to safe work permits**Location and other Key Details:*** You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray* The shift schedule is 3 days 3 nights and 6 off – 12 hour shifts* You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spacesSuncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
