Role Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead technical design and documentation across a range of project types. You’ll play a key role in shaping resilient, code-compliant, and community-focused architecture in Northern BC.

Responsibilities

- Lead production of detailed construction drawings and BIM models using Revit,

- Interpret and apply BC Building Code 2024 across diverse occupancy types,

- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities,

- Support feasibility studies and retrofit strategies,

- Mentor junior technologists and contribute to firm-wide technical standards,

- Collaborate closely with project architects and firm leadership,

- Involvement in all phases of design with emphasis on working drawings, construction details, and construction administration,

- Learn and research the changing requirements of each project and is receptive to feedback from clients and colleagues,

- Perform field reviews to ensure adherence of work with construction drawings,

- Manage contractor, client and affected stakeholders during construction operations,

- Ability to multi-task as you will be handling multiple project responsibilities simultaneously

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent Architectural accredited program,

- Registered with the AIBC, or eligible for registration with the AIBC,

- 10+ years of professional experience in the North American architecture industry,

- Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows,

- Experience with Lumion, Sketch-up, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset,

- Strong knowledge of BCBC 2024,

- Excellent communication and coordination skills working with collaborative teams and clients,

- Strong technical skills with the ability to translate design intent into construction documents with a high level of attention to detail and self motivation,

- Experience in interior design or building science is an asset,

- Passion for regional design and community impact with complex stakeholder groups (i.e. Northern Health, BC Housing, First Nation communities),

- Must have Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency,

- Valid class 5 driver’s license,

- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English.
