Responsibilities

1. Assess the needs of individual workers and administer the benefit provisions of the Workers' Compensation Act.
2. Exercise leadership in the development of a goal-oriented return-to-work plan.
3. Liaise with employers, health-care providers, unions and other service providers to ensure access to appropriate medical and vocational rehabilitation services.
4. Manage assigned caseloads and prepare reasoned, plain language decisions.
5. Adhere to procedures for return-to-work management.
6. Approve and authorize services and benefits for injured workers, including earnings replacement benefits, medical aid, vocational rehabilitation, and permanent impairment benefits.
7. Assess entitlement to wage-loss benefits and calculate awards as per the Workers' Compensation Act provisions and policies.
8. Coordinate and/or provide a full range of vocational rehabilitation services, including job search and development, negotiating wage subsidies, and developing alternative employment opportunities.

Qualifications

As a successful Case Manager, you will possess a university degree in health care, education, or social sciences and 4 years of experience performing medium or complex case management in a decision-making capacity in patient care, social service, health care, insurance, disability case management, or related environment. An equivalent combination of a university degree in another area of study and significant additional experience in case management may be considered. Travel is a requirement; candidates must have a valid driver's license and daily use of a dependable, safe automobile.

The Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $69,273 – $87,095. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the completion of all applicable background checks, confirmation of credentials, and a valid Driver's Abstract, the results of which must be satisfactory to the WCB.
