Permanent Part Time - CustodianIsabelle Sellon School, Blairmore, AlbertaLivingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part-Time Permanent Custodian (4 hours per day) at Isabelle Sellon School located in Blairmore, AB. ?Shift is from 3 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of more hours in the evening or on weekends based on need.The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site. ?Custodial work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, cleaning equipment, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various chemicals. This position will report to the School Administrator, Head Custodian and the Health & Safety Coordinator.Typical duties of a Custodian include but are not limited to:Cleaning thoroughly washrooms, fixtures, and partitionsWashing all desks, counters, doors, walls, windows, etc.Dusting in the schoolMopping, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floorsUsing and maintaining janitorial equipment Securing of Division buildingsGarbage collection and removalPreventative maintenance - tightening furniture or changing light bulbsSnow and ice removal from walkwaysThe ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.RequirementsMandatory QualificationsA High School Diploma or equivalentAdditional Qualifications, Knowledge, and SkillsDemonstrated initiative and good judgementAbility to build positive relations with staff that values a team environmentCapable of working alone and with minimum supervisionOrganize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions requireCapable of performing routine and repetitive tasks dailyDisplay a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staffFitness and AbilitiesAble to stand or walk for extended periodsAble to lift and carry up to 22 kg independentlyAble to work in a highly active physical environmentAble to work with a variety of chemicalsConditions of EmploymentA satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.This is a Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2133 position; therefore, seniority applies.
