About Finance:

The Finance team is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company. They support management decisions through top-tier accounting, controlling, and procurement processes.

The Controlling team effectively manages EFG's financials, focusing on actuals, forecasts, and budget reporting. Their insights and valued opinions contribute to the leadership team's decision-making process.

The Business Unit Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the assigned business unit. This includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and the ability to provide insights to drive business performance. Additionally, the candidate will act as a key business partner to various departments, helping to guide strategic decisions and drive overall business success.

What you will do:

- Oversee all financial topics for the projects within the business unit.
- Support and steer the business to achieve its goals.
- Monitor and analyze project financial performance and KPIs, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasting.
- Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to prepare budgets and forecasts, and compare them against actual performance.
- Ensure alignment of financial plans with project objectives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses.
- Present financial results to senior management, highlighting key variances and performance drivers.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Cost Control and Optimization:

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within projects.
- Implement and monitor cost control measures.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.

Business Partnering:

- Collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment with business goals.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to support the business unit goals.
- Foster a strong partnership with operational teams to drive performance and business growth.
- Assess and manage financial risks associated with projects.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors regarding project finances.

This position entails managing projects on a global scale, with a particular focus on the Canada and Middle East regions, requiring flexibility to work hours that align with these time zones.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA, CPA or other professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a business unit or divisional capacity (minimum 3-5 years), ideally in the Digital or Technology Industries.
- Fluent in Arabic & English.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
