Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, IT the Cyber Security Analyst will work with Infrastructure, Application, Development, and Partners to set, create and modify standards, guidelines and procedures for security related practices throughout the lifecycle. You will be responsible for the technical aspect of our cyber security systems and oversee our vulnerability and patch management.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours
What you will do
1. Implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, patch practices and recommend security changes to systems.
2. Plan, recommend and lead modifications or adjustments for Security standards and policies based on best practices, including IT and End User standards and policies.
3. Document systems security implementations, operations and maintenance activities and update as necessary.
4. Provide cyber security recommendations to leadership and teams based on significant threats and vulnerabilities.
5. Review and action active assigned tickets by the Security Operations Centre.
6. Maintain, monitor and co-manage our core security suite of services/applications.
7. Lead, plan and deploy Security Awareness Training programs and security email campaigns to bring more awareness to our enterprise.
What You’ll Bring
1. 3 years of experience in cyber security (network, systems).
2. Post-secondary school education with Information Technology and/or cyber security related certifications, diploma and/or degree.
3. Cyber Security mindset, while balancing user experience/performance with security practice.
Along with the following Skills & Competencies:
1. Knowledge and experience in information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, email security, encryption, certificates).
2. Knowledge of access controls, identity, and access management (e.g., PK infrastructure, Oauth, SAML).
3. Knowledge of Cyber Security principles and frameworks.
4. Ability to communicate security needs/requirements to business level people.
5. Skills in technical and non-technical documentation.
6. Skills in network and systems technologies.
7. Skills in leading vulnerability and patch management.
8. Skills in reviewing logs and SIEM’s to troubleshoot events/incidents when assisting the SOC.
