Position SummaryInterior Health has an exciting permanent full time Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician opportunity available within our dynamic Mental Health - Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) team based out of the Penticton Health Centre but also reaches into the Foundry and community. Interior Health and our partner agencies provide a range of mental health and substance use services for all ages. We strive to ensure that our services are welcoming of all peoples, gender identities, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds.Who are we looking for?The successful candidate is required to have two years recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment, preferably in healthcare.The ideal Clinician will have a strong background in mental health care, with experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals experiencing first-episode psychosis. They will demonstrate expertise in evidence-based interventions, case management, and recovery-oriented practices while working collaboratively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. This role requires excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust with young people and their support networks. A commitment to early intervention, ongoing education, and reducing stigma around mental illness is essential. If you have strong assessment and intake skills and are comfortable responding to crisis situations in the community this could be the right opportunity for you.What we offer:• Competitive salary and an attractive remuneration package• Career Growth• Employer paid training/education• Employer paid vacation (per collective agreement)• Employer paid insurance premiums • Extended Health & Dental coverage • Contribution to Municipal Pension Plan• Balanced lifestyleWhat will you work on?The EPI service is a multi-disciplinary team who provide evidence based, specialized, holistic and age and culturally safe interventions and supports for people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, their first episode of psychosis between the ages of 18 to 30 years and their families.The Substance Use Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team and as a member of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons experiencing substance use problems/disorders or concurrent substance use and mental health problems have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.Scheduling Information:Shift types are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Friday.
