Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 02/04/2026About this opportunity:The Manager, Completions & Interventions Engineering, is accountable for the safe, efficient, and value-focused delivery of completion, intervention, and abandonment activities across the Atlantic Region. This role provides strategic and technical leadership throughout planning and execution, ensuring robust well barrier strategies, the integrity of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs), and full compliance with Cenovus standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. Supporting the DCI mandate and the West White Rose Program (WWRP), the Manager stewards well delivery across the full lifecycle, enabling operational excellence, seamless platform start-up, and top-quartile safety and operational performance. The role fosters a high-performing culture built on collaboration, accountability, and empowered decision-making across onshore and offshore teams.This position is located at our St. John, NL office.What you’ll do:Strong expertise in completion, intervention, and abandonment well design and execution.Deep understanding of well integrity, well barrier management, and process safety requirements.Proven ability to develop risk assessments, Bowties, and effective mitigation strategies.Experience preparing cost and schedule estimates, AFE inputs, and performance tracking.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and submissions related to well operations.Proficiency with digital tools and systems supporting well delivery, reporting, and documentation.Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.Demonstrated leadership in managing contractor performance and third-party service providers.Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:Legally authorized to work in CanadaUndergraduate degree in a relevant engineering disciplineA member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Laboratory (PEGNL)15+ years of oil and gas experience, with significant completion and/or intervention scopeOffshore experience in completion, intervention, or well operationsStrong knowledge of well integrity, well barriers, and applicable regulatory requirementsDemonstrated experience leading teams or providing technical and operational leadershipOffshore supervisory or well-site leadership experienceExperience with contract tendering, bid evaluation, and technical contract managementFamiliarity with completion and intervention design software and digital well delivery toolsExperience supporting well abandonment planning and executionWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing.You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat.
