Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, SOCC, the Operations Coordinator is responsible is responsible for supporting the efficient execution of daily airline operations. This role ensures seamless coordination between internal departments, external partners, and regulatory bodies to maintain operational integrity, minimize disruptions, and enhance overall efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities

Primary Job Functions:

- Support the Duty Officer in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Monitor day-of-operations flights, proactively identifying and communicating delays or schedule changes to airport operations, dispatch, and maintenance teams
- Serve as the first point of contact for inbound crew and ground operations calls, directing inquiries and resolving operational issues promptly
- Coordinate in-flight service changes, including catering adjustments, on a per-flight basis
- Maintain operational software by ensuring accurate aircraft tail assignments and flight times, communicating updates to relevant departments
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly Operations Coordinator checklists to maintain operational consistency
- Ensure all APIS and GENDEC transmissions are completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Investigate and follow up with station personnel and flight crews to ensure accurate coding and documentation of flight delays
- Review Captain reports, addressing operational concerns and ensuring on-time performance (OTP) delays are properly recorded
- Maintain Communication Logs, Shift Synopsis, and Documentation: Ensure detailed record-keeping of operational decisions, disruptions, and actions taken to maintain accurate operational history
- Disruption Recovery: Assist in the recovery planning of flights affected by weather, crew shortages, technical issues, or airport closures by working with internal stakeholders
- Oversee Irregular Operations (IROPs): Assist in the execution of IROPs plans, including handling aircraft swaps, rerouting, and passenger recovery strategies
- Assist in the coordination and planning of ad hoc charter flights, including securing ground handling arrangements and airport PPRs
- Liaise with the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC): Work closely with MCC to ensure aircraft availability, maintenance actions, and fleet positioning align with the operational schedule
- Assist in the Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Provide feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of OCC procedures to enhance efficiency and response capabilities
- Generate Reports for Operational Performance Tracking: Assist in compiling reports related to on-time performance, flight delays, crew utilization, and irregular operations for management review
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Education:

- Post-secondary education in aviation management, business administration, logistics, or a related field is preferred

- Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in airline operations, dispatch, ground handling, or a related field

- Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and airline operational control practices

- Experience working in an operations center, dispatch environment, or similar high-pressure setting is an asset

- Familiarity with operational software used for flight tracking, crew scheduling, and dispatch functions

- Previous experience handling flight delays, irregular operations, and real-time problem-solving in an airline environment

- Skills & Abilities:

- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, flight crews, airport authorities, and external service providers

- Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and airline operations software

- Strong attention to detail, particularly in flight documentation, delay coding, and regulatory compliance

- Understanding of on-time performance (OTP) metrics and the ability to analyze and report on delays

- Adaptability to shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational demand

- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in real-time operational settings

- Understanding of customs, immigration, and security requirements affecting airline operations

- Excellent situational awareness and proactive problem-solving skills in high-stress environments

- Strong coordination and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams, including Flight Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, Airports, and Crew Scheduling

- Leading as a Flair teammate by demonstrating collaborative behavior and modeling the company's values in all interactions
- Maintaining diverse relationships with peers and stakeholders to foster effective communication and collaboration
