Production Assembler I Global Supply Chain, Edmonton Plant

At our local office in Edmonton, Alberta we design and manufacture applications and electrical schemes for Motor Control Centers and Low Voltage Switchboards. We currently have an opening for Production Assembler 1 on both day and evening shifts. This position will work a regular schedule and is expected to work overtime hours as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform assigned function from oral and/or written instructions, drawings, or other manufacturing information.

- Follow established procedures and work instructions for the assigned function.

- Handle materials in accordance with established procedures.

- Perform routine maintenance on all plant equipment in the area of assignment as required.

- Maintain quality standards by inspecting and testing finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and codes.

- Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages.

- Handle all finished products for shipment; call carriers and load materials into carrier's vehicles.

- Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools and work area clean and orderly by performing 5‑S duties and continued dedication to raising the bar.

- Exhibit teamwork in all activities, maintaining a positive, team‑based attitude. Support peers during high demand by working assigned hours and overtime as required, and comply with scheduled start/stop times and break periods for the facility.

- Participate on local teams to improve site conditions, productivity, and performance.

- Lift 35 lbs. with reasonable accommodation as required.

- Work in a timely manner to ensure customer needs are fulfilled and deadlines are met. Work at a pace that meets expected productivity goals.

- Perform other functions as assigned.

This job might be for you if

- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited school is required.

- One or more years of experience in electrical assembly or an electrical manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

- Ability to read and work with blueprints and schematics.

- Able to multitask and work in a team environment.

- Self‑motivated, energetic, and capable of working in a very fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.

- Strong technical knowledge and experience in a manufacturing work setting.

- Ability to work overtime during the week and on weekends as required.

- Basic computer skills.

- Strong attention to detail.
