Full Time and Part Time Opportunities
The Cowichan Primary Care Network is looking for full-time or part-time Nurse Practitioners to join the new Urgent and Primary Care Centre opening soon in Cowichan Valley. Work alongside other Nurse Practitioners, Family Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Mental Health workers and Medical Office Assistants in a highly collaborative and supportive clinic. This team will deliver comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to seniors, with a focus on building lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health conditions for patients of all ages, including preventive care, health screenings, vaccinations, and minor procedures.
- Chronic Disease Management: Oversee the management of long-term health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular disease.
Women’s Health & Mental Health
Provide care for women’s health needs (e.g., Pap smears, contraception) and offer mental health support (e.g., anxiety, depression).
Telehealth & In-Person Appointments
Offer both in-person and telehealth services to meet the diverse needs of your patients. Charting will be completed using Telus Med Access EMR, ensuring seamless integration with our clinic’s systems and efficient patient care documentation.
Pre-booked & Same-Day Access Appointments: Provide both pre-booked and same-day access appointments for clinic patients to ensure timely care and flexibility.
Remuneration
Per Ministry’s designated Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Service Contract
Overhead
The Ministry provides funding for Nurse Practitioner overhead; the current available amount is $75,000 per FTE.
Shift/Hours of Work
0800-2000 pre-booked appointments with same day clinic patient appointments built into schedule.
