We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MongoDB Database Administrator to join our team and lead the development, deployment, and ongoing support of robust, scalable MongoDB environments. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas, database automation, and a proactive mindset to support both business and technology stakeholders. This role involves working independently on a variety of projects and initiatives, in collaboration with developers, analysts, and IS leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Deploy, configure, and maintain MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas databases.
- Design and implement high-availability solutions, including replica sets and sharding strategies.
- Administer and tune databases for optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain documentation on database architecture, procedures, and standards.
- Establish and manage database security policies, including user access and roles.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor and perform patch upgrades on MongoDB environments.
- Automate database processes using Python and DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Support incident resolution and provide operational support to internal teams.
- Analyze and optimize large data insert operations and query performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database alignment with business needs.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support off-hours work, including weekends and holidays.
- Stay current with database trends and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with MongoDB in enterprise-scale environments.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas in production deployments.
- Strong experience with DevOps tools including Python, Ansible, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
- In-depth knowledge of replica sets, sharding, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across diverse teams.
- Willingness and ability to support a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

- Experience supporting mission-critical systems in a highly regulated environment.
- Prior experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Familiarity with additional database platforms is a plus.

Certifications (if any)

- MongoDB Certified DBA Associate or related MongoDB certifications are a plus.
- DevOps or cloud platform certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) are advantageous.
